Beckett: 'I feel all right' by Jared Carrabis
It's a concussion for Josh Beckett, who doesn't 'know where we go from here'

Yesterday, Sox fans got hit with news that star pitcher Josh Beckett took a ball off the left side of his head during batting practice and was experiencing "mild concussion" symptoms.

Today, the news regarding Beckett’s unfortunate incident was a little more encouraging. According to a tweet from the ProJo's Brian MacPherson, Beckett "checked out fine" today.

Boston.com’s Extra Bases expanded, adding that Beckett said, "I feel all right. Feeling better today. I feel like I got hit in the head. I’m getting through some of the headache stuff that I had yesterday, which is probably good."

I've been following reports on ESPN’s SportsCenter and Baseball Tonight, all who basically have written off this injury as nothing serious, but Extra Bases reveals that "tests revealed a concussion", which if you followed the stories of Jason Bay and Justin Morneau last season, that's not good.

On a lighter note, Beckett said that he was "definitely better today" than he was yesterday, which seems logical after taking a baseball to the dome, but the right-hander also said, "I don't know where we go from here", which isn't comforting.

We can only hope that Beckett’s concussion doesn't keep him out of action for as long as the two aforementioned All Stars. For Beckett, it’s his second concussion lifetime. The native of Spring, Texas suffered his first concussion in his days before professional baseball in a fight, according to Extra Bases.

Beckett is scheduled to take the mound this Thursday, so whether or not he makes his start will be a good indicator as to how he's feeling physically.
