The Suspensions Are In... by Jared Carrabis
My predictions along with the actual suspensions:
Well, the suspensions for the Red Sox are in and I certainly don't agree with the release. Coco Crisp received a deserved 7 games for charging the mound but what I don't understand is the five game (or one start) suspension of Jon Lester. Lester had no hand in the brawl and he didn't throw at anyone. He hit two batters, one in the back on a curveball (clearly not intentional) and another he hit in the foot with a changeup (once again not intentional). Makes no sense and I don't agree with it. The third and final suspension issued to the Red Sox was to Sean Casey who will receive three games. One can only assume it was because he was the first Red Sox out of the dugout and was pulling guys off but a very lenient three games issued to Casey.
My predictions:
Gomes: 7 games
Crawford: 5 games
Shields: 5 games
Iwamura: 3 games (I'd give you 5 if you didn't hit like a girl)
Navarro won't get any games, if anything the only thing he should get is a Thank You card from Coco Crisp's ...

Fight Night At Fenway by Jared Carrabis
Tempers Flare, Coco Charges The Mound, Benches Empty
Just wanted to start things off by asking those who said yesterday that the Sox and Rays weren't a rivalry, what about now? I am well aware that the Rays and Red Sox will never be on the same level due to the Red Sox and Yankees rivalry but what makes that rivalry is the storied past. The Red Sox and Yankee rivalry could not be any more dead right now than Akinori Iwamura's right hook. Jeter could not hurt a fly, A-Rod and Manny are best friends, the rivalry only exists between the fans now.
But now you have the Red Sox and the Rays. It could not be any more blatant that these two teams simply do not like each other. What makes a rivalry is the competitiveness, one, and two would be the players dislike for one another. It goes without saying that the Red Sox and Rays do not respect each other like the Red Sox and Yankees do. As a matter of fact, there seems to be no respect between these two teams at all. Respect is earned, not given.
As far as the fight is concerned, we all ...

Are The Sox And Rays A Rivalry? by Jared Carrabis
You Be The Judge
Think about it, I know it sounds a little crazy, but is the biggest rivalry in baseball no longer between the Red Sox and Yankees? Could it be that the Red Sox and Rays have taken over as the greatest rivals in America's greatest pastime? Well there's only one way to find out, let's define "rivalry", shall we?
ri·val·ry - "the act of competing as for profit or a prize" Well now that certainly makes sense now doesn't it? All these years there had been bad blood between these two teams but it went under the radar because the Rays could never compete with the Red Sox. But now all of a sudden that these two teams have been swapping first place back and for, could it be that the Red Sox and Rays are the new division rivals?
The bad blood on this team ranges back to the days when Gerald Williams charged the mound after being hit by a pitch out of the hand of Boston ace Pedro Martinez. The bad blood between these two teams have sparked rage against the Rays by such players as our Oc...
